    Hi,
I'll be after a new equipment rack to house my gear in when my new plasma arrives shortly. Basically I need one wide and low (ish) rack to sit the plasma on top of and there needs to be room underneath for :-

    Denon AVC-A1SE
    Sky+
    Humax Digital Receiver
    Video
    X-Box
    Gamecube
    DVD Player

I've seen some nice looking racks eg Soundstyle XS310 but surely a glass top shelf isn't very good for placing a plasma on, as soon as someone touches it (and with a 1yr old daughter it will happen!) won't it just slide all over the place? I presume it would be best to get a wooden top shelf so I can screw the stand on the plasma to it somehow?

Can anyone recommend a good rack bearing in mind the stability of the plasma?

    Cheers,
    Andy.

Do the plasma justice and hang it on the wall...

The weight of most plasmas and the rubber feet that there are on most stands has been sufficient for most with glass topped cabinets ... search some other threads for their comments ... some have strapped/wire-tied the plasma to the wll behind to stop any topple that were to occur ...

Highly recommended putting you plasma on the wall, particularly if you have a toddler. All those finger prints on screen, get it up out of reach. :D

I use Target racking for my AV equipment, solid and stable, highly recommended; most hi-fi dealers sell it.

I'm in a similar situation and am currently considering the sonus elite AV unit - http://www.sonus-systems.co.uk/av_supports.htm -

They do one with 2 shelves that can take 3 full size items side by side on each shelf.

Has anyone seen these stands?? Are they any good?

    Lonny.

Havn't seen the Sonus, but can thoroughly recomend quadraspire who have a product builder that lets you build custom fit shelving and gives you a quote. I use their AV table and I'm very pleased with it.

Any one know of any av cabinets to house the equipment in rather than racks?

I have seen the one's from Arca's website which are quite good but am looking for additional options.

    Cheers
