We have a limited choice of dvd recorders in N Ireland and I wanted one that I can record movies, minus the adverts, and edit home movies on. I was thinking of the Sony RDRGX3 but haven't much of a clue really. is this machine suitable or can anyone recommend anything else for around £300.00. I also need the dvds to play on most other players for kids etc wathing stuff.

a HHD model will allow you edit ads out, as for automatic advert removal not sure, a Tivo can but didnt think anything else could.
