Hi Guys, just a quick post, I am wanting to connect my Xbox1 to my Belkin (F5D7632-4) network, it's only to stream movies etc, already have one connected to my Belkin Wireless router and that works fine, so would be happy with a suitable (ie cheap and cheerull) access point that will do the job, any suggestions, hint, tips or bargins?, ideally will cost close to £30 mark and will connect without too many issues to my F5D7632-4, it's only to the next room so signal strength should not be an issue.

Thanks in advance.

If you already have one box connected wirelessly to your router you do not need a second access point as the one built-in to your router can deal with multiple downstream devices.

Hi Beer, my other xbox is at the other end of the house, its wired direct to the router but gets the signal from my PC which is wirelessly connected to the same router. I now want another xbox, which will be wireless too so will need an access point for that.

Try reading that again and tell me that it makes sense? How can the original one both be 'wired directly to the router' AND 'gets the signal from my PC which is wirelessly connected to the same router'. It's one or the other so which is it?

I will reiterate, you do not need a second Wireless Access Point as your router has one built-in which can support multiple downstream devises.

It does make sense, my existing Xbox is hard wired directly to a wireless router, this receives a signal via the wireless network from the computer that's upstairs with a wireless card?, so I want to add another Xbox in another room which will need some wireless element to receive a signal?.

Hope this clears it up.

Not really. However as you have a wireless network the second Xbox needs a Wireless Adapter - not an Access Point. For a description of a WAP see here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_Access_Point

Ok Beer, you got me, I did once in all my postings mention an access point, as you've totally disregarded all of the other simple posts that I've made and focused on that one slip of the tongue, I guess you can't actually offer any advice on a suitable wireless ADAPTOR. Does anyone else have any suggestions?, common sense answers only please.

I used to use a Belkin 'Wireless Gaming Adaptor' for my XBOX via wifi.

Just looking at those now Ben, seem like a good choice, just looking for the cheapest deal, all seem to be £40-ish THEN P&P.

lol

Cheers mate.
