    Hi All

Looking for suggestions to replace my ageing Castle speakers after one of the Avon cones finally died a death. The system currently consists of:-

    Castle Avons (L+R)
    Castle Keep 2 (Centre)
    Castle Dipole (Suround L+R)
    Castle Durhams (Rear Suround)
CAstle Classic Sub (run of a B.K. Electrons board)

They are currently being driven off a Arcam AVR500 and i intend to keep this.

The room is about 5m x 4m and the distance to the TV/Centre is 4.2m

I am thinking of the following:-

M.A. New Bronze or Silver Range
    M.A. APEX

I also have a possible option on the out going M.A Gold GXC150 and GX200 for the front and keep the rear set up as is.

I am looking to inject a bit more life into the system. Budget is up to about £2k to do a full or partial replacement.

What would people suggest i listen too or do with regards a full or partial update?

I can vouch for the MA Silvers driven by an Arcam receiver (I have the AVR400 + silver 6s & centre). They'd be a definite step-up from the bronze and if using for music then should comfortably out-perform the Apex. If you're a big music listener then you might want to look at the silver 8s.

That all said, many seem to regard the gold series as a significant step-up over the silver (i haven''t heard them so can't comment) so likely worth trying to get a demo, particular given that you have a receiver capable of getting the most out of them.

Keeping your rears for the time being shouldn't pose a problem, particularly if it frees up cash for better towers and a more potent sub.
