My missus is interested in playing simple FPS - like Doom 1 !! Anything similar avaiable now. I only have modest computer P4 1.6/ 512 RAM/ GeForce 2 64Mb - so not Doom 3!. Also dont want anything complicated like Half Life etc. Should be easy Shoot & Go! as I said like Doom - does this play on Win XP?

    Thanks for any advice :)

If she wants something with a little less pace why not try a sneak 'em up like the thief series. The game has an excellent story and is very imersive and would be a very good introduction to fps. Both Thief I & II will work on that system fine but you'd be struggling a bit with Thief: Deadly Shadows though. If she doesn't want anything too demanding then Quake III arena would be a good start. That's the game I got my dad (now 680) into fps with now he enjoys the likes of Call of duty and Ravensheild:) You have planty of difficulty settings for the bots and the game will look good and run fine on your system. When she gets more confident she can go on line and whoop some real :censored:
