    Hi Guys,

    Need some advice.

Looking to buy a pair of good quality bookshelf speakers for the Home Cinema.

Used 90% for Film/TV and 10% for Music.

Would also need to be able to buy a decent centre in the same range.

    Any suggstions for a budget of £400 - £450 forthe pair ?

    Given your requirements, consider these:

    http://www.avsales.co.uk/SVS-SBS-01-50-278-.htm

The full set, that is :smashin:

If you can wait a while, there will be an even better set of fronts that match.

And when you get the urge to upgrade after that, swap out your 309 for an SVS :)

Put it this way, I heard a pair of B&W DM602 yesterday @ £300 a pair and wasn't particularly impressed, compared to the SVS.
To be fair, I had my building site clobber on and didn't like to ask them to turn it up :D

Just a suggestion, there are others.
But if you can get a listen, it's worth trying.

mmm, although they sound good I don't really like the look of them.

    It's a pity you didn't like the DM602's.

They are exactly what i was thinking about buying.

Although i'm still liking the look of the KEF iQ1/iQ3's.

Hey, don't get me wrong, it's only me who wasn't impressed with the 602s.
Having said that I certainly wouldn't say they're bad.
If you're thinking of them, go and have a listen.
You might end up raving about them on here

Another vote for the SVS, stonking speakers for the money. Not everyones cup of tea aesthetically perhaps but for me sound quality is more important than looks, hey I buy M&K :D

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I had some RS6 floorstanders that were amazing but the wife didn't like the size/color.

Now have to go for a bookshelf speaker in Beech. I do like the RS1's so might just have to go with them.

I think the Monitors are a great choice, for what it's worth - S6's are my surrounds with S8 floor standing for LR front and an S8 center. Not too boxy-sounding, not too finicky about positioning to get a very nice soundstage, and very good for music, too.
