I realise that the thread title is probably a pipe dream, since once I start it will inevitably lead me down a rabbit hole and I'll spend the rest of my life upgrading but here goes...
I've always wanted a home cinema. When I bought this house I had grand plans for one in what was originally a spare bedroom. That ended up becoming a gym/home office so the dream went down the pan.
I'm now considering using the small sitting room for the purpose instead. Can't quite get SWMBO on board with a full conversion, but I'm thinking I should at least be able to get a big screen, projector and decent sound system. This is a picture of the current TV, and the dimensions. It's not ideal due to the position of the door but I'm hoping I can get something to work.
Should I be looking at a screen lowering from the ceiling (it's a bungalow so easy access), or get rid of the screen and picture and just mount a permanent screen?
Given the relatively small area (that wall is just over 2m), would I be better forgetting about a screen and projector and just get a bigger TV?
This may well be a long term project as I don't really have the budget for it currently, but I'm happy to buy bits at a time over the next year or 2.
Suggestions welcome.
