Would appreciate any advice/guidance with a set of 5.1 speakers for a Denon AVR2802 that I am about to buy. Trouble is I've only got about £200 after I've bought the Denon and also know very little about this kind of stuff so be kind eh!

Spend that on a pair of L/R's for now... rather than getting £200 for everything.

Something like Kef Q1 standmounts (not a recommendation, just a example)

I'm not sure what 5.0 speakers you can get for £200, but it's very much stretching the quality for that. And a 5.1 system for £200 is stretching it even more!

    Fatbob10,

    Depends what you are after.
I got a mission cinema six pack from Richer Sounds £180.
They even threw in a Sub-woofer interconnect for that
(but I had to ask for it).

It contains six Mission 70 bookshelf speakers. Not too big so the wife should not complain, plus an active sub-woofer.

This is the Mission cinema pack that has now been superseded
by the Mission cinema M70, which had rave reviews from What Hi Fi. Basically the M70 is the same speaker with a different cabinet.
(as confirmed by Mission themselves, to me).

So at £180 it has to be a bit of a bargain. I am well chuffed with it.

    Cheers
