    Hi,
Had the psp for a week and getting used to converting dvd/video to watch on it.
Bought one film just to get an appreciation of the pq on umd (resident evil). What I would like is a suggestion for a 1st games purchase not being a previous games player.
Something to occupy me in between lessons (driving instructor) ,that can be played for a short while say 10mins and resumed later on. Looking for good graphics and soundtrack.
Already put a few mins of pupils lesson on the supplied stick for recap on psp next lesson, hope its well received.

    Agree with Lumines!

Also Darkstalkers is a good pick up and play, ATV Off Road as well!

Hot Shots, aka Everybodys Golf, still the best PSP game IMO and great for short games due to the PSP switch off quick save thingy. Very accessable game to get you started too

I was practically a newbie to video games before I got my PSP last Friday and the first game I played was Lumines - very addictive and easy to get the hang of without being insultingly easy. It gets continually tougher so it keeps testing you as you get better.

The second game I have played is one that has become even more addictive than Lumines, and that is Everybody's Golf. Really easy to use and rewarding as you get lots of items, players and courses awarded to you as you progress. Plus, the old guy is a hysterical character in both his tea drinking celebrations and tantrums when losing!

The next two games I plan to purchase are Ape Academy and World Snooker Challenge 2005.

wipeout and ridge racers are both top games, i'm a bit biased as i love my racing games but i'm sure everyone will agree that they are both excellent

Lumines isn't really a 10 minutes game, but you can just flick the power switch to send it into sleep mode anyway.

Ridge Racer is top notch for some quick play, good for the sleep switch too. :)

Really loving Midnight Club 3 - though the load times are a little irritating (but worth it)

Thinking of picking up everobodys golf as my second game, though very curious about the Mercury style game that's on the demo disc.

It looks kinda cool - has anyone actually played it?

Though i'd guess these types of games are probably the first to be discounted in the future so may be worth waiting a while.

has to be Ridge Racer or Burnout :rotfl:

Seriously if your new to gaming I would take it easy with something simple like Lumines or another puzzler. Golf is also good and quite laid back.

if you loved snooker on ps2/xbox than snooker on psp is great and very good for long journeys. Plus 2 people can play on the same psp. As it is not very graphic intensive is a bit easy on battery life to
