Sudden programme guide fault on PV500

After several months of blissful viewing, my PV500 has suddenly developed a programme guide fault: it switches out of the guide and back to the previously viewed TV channel when I press Page Down, or click down more than a few lines. I read on here a week or so ago that Panasonic were about to transmit an update to the Freeview software so the natural suspicion is that the update has a bug in it. My software version is 1.67. Does anyone else have this problem, or has my set gone technical

can you do a forced redownload of the software, i.e. like what you can do with the Sky box
