    Hi,
    I'm currently using a Rel Strata model 1, with M&K K5 Fronts, K7 Centre, and K4 rears.

I'm considering upgrading the sub, but admit to being totally lost in what to go for?

Anyone have a similar setup, or willing to offer any suggestions please?

    Thanks in advance

    Lee

Why do you want to upgrade the sub and what are you looking for that you don't feel you are getting at the moment. A budget would be useful too.

    Hi Ian,
I'm not sure what I'm missing to be honest, just that the Rel model 1 is a bit long in the tooth now, and technology moves on. What is your opinion on Rel subs? Probably not wanting to spend anymore than about £250 second hand.

    Cheers, Lee

I think that the ST range of REL subs are excellent but too expensive. The early Strata's and Storms may not go as deep as some others but they keep good time which is more important if you listen to a lot of music.

To be honest I don't imagine that you would get much better than what you already have for £250 unless you can find a Storm.

A Storm is a significant improvement over the Strata imho, keep your eyes glued on the classifieds...they come up for sale every now and again...

    Hi Ian/Smurfin,
Thanks for the advice. I'll keep a lookout for a storm. I had been offered a KEF TDM45B, but I think it may be a bit too large for my room...

    Cheers, Lee
