    Hello there all :hiya:

This is my first post here but have been a lurker for some time :)

I currently have a REL Q200E subwoofer and want to upgrade it to something with a little more umph. The sub is used purely for Home Cinema, so musicality is of secondary importance.

I'm being a little cheeky and asking here first before I go and have a look, budget will be about £800. My room is small at only 14" x 11".

Rest of my system if it helps with the recommendation:
    Fronts: B&W 602 S2
    Centre: B&W LCR60
    Reares: 4 x 601 S2
    Amp: Yamaha DSP-Z9

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have

Seeing that you have B&W speakers then a sub by them them would be worth considering, good match.

    BTW: Nice Amp :smashin:

Is your room a dedicated home cinema room or does it have to serve as a living room too ?

If it is a multifunction room it could be an idea to wait and see what the reviews from the SVS PB-10 early adopters are like as this sub at £350 should blow the Q200 into the weeds (I love that expression) but isn't as physically imposing as anything else in the SVS range.

If you don't want to wait - forum sponsor AV-Sales will be unveiling an advert later on today that may contain something of interest in it.

C'mon Daneel. The word on the street is that SVS are overrated! Just ask Jeff!

Does a subwoofer have a "voice" that better matches it to same-make speakers?

I'm a great believer in buying "pre-loved" quality kit.

If you can let somebody else pay the VAT and the first year's depreciation then all to the good. Provided it's something with a pedigree that still has maker support.

That B&W750 may be just what you're looking for. I've only heard the ASW675 but even that would blow out your windows and concuss the cat! Heaven knows what it will do to you! Probably make you grin! :D

Remember to beat the price down!

Oh look what's appeared above us :D

For anyone that lives within range of Tunbridge Wells you can have a listen to the whole range of new Velodyne Subs in one of their three demo rooms where you can have a good listen and won't be subjected to a hard sell.

They even stock other subs that you can listen to as a comparison

Thankyou all for the suggestions much appreciated

Ian yes indeed the room is multipurpose so I do have restrictions on space, although I have no WAF to factor in so I maybe able to squeeze something a little larger in if necessary :D

I have to say that I never was really that impressed with the Q200 although it did the job, but at the time I bought it I was a complete newb at this Home Cinema lark (not much has changed though  ) and so went with mainly magazine reviews.

I'm still looking around and may as you suggest Ian awhile wait for reviews of the new baby SVS.
