What sort of budget have you got??

It may be worth your while looking for a 2nd hand Rel or M&K sub.

As mentioned Paradigm make some good subs especially the Servo 15 which is a portable earthquake!!:D

500 quid at Richer Sounds (if they can get one) BIG subs, so if space is a problem look elsewhere!!

Just had a look, their websites slooooow, to be honest the only one I would look at is the Kef PSW1000 but even that doesnt perform as well as the Paradigm, the Kef only goes down to 40hz +/- 3db.

Looks like the Paradigm is the one, see if you can demo the stuff before you buy it (and at home if they´ll let you!!)

I have the Pr10. Bought it from RSounds 2 years ago. Great sub for the price and not too big.

Could not go wrong at that price :)

    Lo all,

I have a cunning plan for you. Get two PDR-10's!!! I had a chat with Nic Rhodes a regular on these forums and very knowledgeable about these things. He spoke about how two PDR-10's could make quite a "killer" of budget system. This intrigued me as I already have one PDR-10 but was considering something else, not because I was unsatisfied with the PDR-10, but I've now got a bigger dedicated room and the PDR-10 was struggling a bit. After looking round and listening to a fair few subs the ones that did the business were all £500+ and at the moment I can't really justify spending that much (doing the house up you see :) ) so the thought of spending £120 for a second PDR-10 sounded a good one. I got hold of my second PDR-10 yesterday and have been fiddling with positioning them both. I have finally got them in a place where they sound absolutely superb! I would have never have guessed these subs could sound so good!! it's a revelation to me.

Again this is personal preference I can't say you'd hear them the same but after hearing some quite expensive subs when I did my initial research these two PDR-10 would surprise a few people I can tell you :D :D

    Cheers

    Dave

Thanks for the reply dave, I don't think my neighbours would like me having 2 subs !
I think one sub would be enough for me, but who knows ? maybe after getting one from richer sounds i may get another at a later date.....I'll be phoning richer sounds later this morning...

    cheers
