    Hi

Im in need of some help :lease:
My little boy was playing next to my sub (kef egg 2005) or with it !!! when there was this POP sound. Now the sub does not work the lights are green and I dont think his little fingers could have done anything to the amp Denon 2802 to stop the sub ????.

I have checked all the cables but im lost to the problem

    Is the sub dead ?????

If so what should I replace it with prob could go up to £300 at a push

Any advice is more than welcome and the little boy is 14 months old so his hands are everywhere

    Thanks in advance
    Marc

    Hi mwallan,

Have you checked the possible fuses eg Plugs or if it has one on the back of the sub that is accessible?

    John :)

    HI

No I have not checked the fuse. as i presume that ok as the green light is on the sub changes from red when not in use to green so I dont think is a plug fuse but I dont know where to look for any other fuse on the sub any ideas or help ???

Sorry mwallan i am not too famliar with Kef subs, could be that the amp is blown but then you can probably just replace the amp or take it to your dealers for them to check it out.
I think there are quite a few Kef sub owners on here maybe they can assist more

    Good Luck mate ;)

    John :)

    Thanks for the help john,

I dont think the amp is blown as the other speakers still work but i could be wrong and I cant see how either would have blown as my other half never lets me play it loud  is there any other way i couls test the sub to see if thats the prob ????

My sub has exactly the same problem. I'm taking it back to the shop at the weekend. The guy at sevenoaks hifi didn't sound surprised. I wonder if this is a known fault?

Shouldn't cost anything, doesn't all KEF gear come with a 5 year warranty?

this seems to be a known and fairly common fault of these subs..!! this has been discussed elsewhere - tho, think it may have been a different forum...which I can't say because it'll be edited out..!! freedon of speech and all that...
