I am in the process of changing my Mains to Martin Logan Aeon and Cinema Centre but the price of Martin Logan subwoofer DESCENT is £3000.
I would like an advice from Martin Logan owners as to what type of subwoofer they have got,or maybe i have to stick with martin Logan's own sub?

You don't have to stick with the ML range of subs.

Any good quality sub would be suitable. Bass frequencies have less tonal character than the upper range. So matching isn't a problem.

Something like a Rel Stadium III(£1500) or Stentor III(£2500) would be a nice match - both very musical.

Depending on your leaning, some AV subs maybe suitable too, like the Servo15, Velo DD18 etc.

Don't limit yourself to an ML sub when there are many better options at cheaper prices!

The HGS18 works very well for movies, but looses out on music... your Aeon's will go low enough, unless you are playing heavy metal or dance..

If you are just about to buy, get a demo as part of the package.. One warning however, my old Rel Strata II couldnt integrate and you will need to spend some real cash...

Good choice of speakers, but them I biased!

I am in the same position - waiting to change my REL to something which will fit in with the rest of my system.

Unfortunately I do not have room for the Descent, so I am going to be audtioning the Depth. If you have room and can afford it then it is the one to go for. If not consider the Depth - around £2k. There is also the Grotto, which is about the £1k mark.

All of these will integrate perfectly with the rest of your ML's.

Let me know what you audition....

look to a low distortion sub, not a REL per se for great performance with the ML, you will notice the difference
