Question Subwoofer cutting out at low volume.

Hi all. I've got an issue with my home/computer speaker system. Every so often, I'd say every few months, I have an issue where the sub cuts out at low volume. I at first thought maybe something with the main controller speaker because the volume knob has a bit of static when adjusting. But I've found out that I can turn that all the way up and turn down the volume on my pc and it does the same. I usually solve this by running a bass test fairly loudly forcing the bass/subwoofer to pump out some serious sound. After doing this once or twice, all seems fine for a few months until it randomly does it again. Here's a link to the set I have on newegg. I've got the bass knob turned all the way up. The system still sounds great and there's no sign of a blown sub or anything. Like I said it still buts out great sound. It's just sometimes at low volume it's like it's turned off.
