Subwoofer/amp emitting loud buzzing following power cut - advice appreciated

My desktop PC feeds an external powered amplifier/subwoofer which in turn feeds a stereo pair of speakers. It's an ultra-budget system (branded "Earthquake"!) but has always worked perfectly and given decent enough sound. Like the PC, it is always kept switched on.

Yesterday, following a power cut which lasted several hours, the return of electricity produced an alarmingly loud buzzing from both the sub and the other speakers. Unplugging the audio lead from the computer made no difference: the fault is obviously in the amp unit.

I suspect that the system is dead beyond economic repair, given that equivalent setups seem to be very reasonably priced at the moment, but if there is a possible quick and easy fix I'd be grateful to know what it is. Many thanks for any thoughts.
