Currently use both a Rel Quake and a Rel Q100 - both connected to Yamaha Amp using phono level connections

Whilst they both improve the level of bass no end I still feel im lacking something and guess can only be got by a new sub

I want a sub which will get that low bass whilst at same time providing that punch and oomph that I associate with the cinema

only problem would be budget of about £250

Grab a Velodyne CHT-10 from the powerbuys before they sell out but why not sell the Quake and Q100 and stick all of the proceeds in the sub kitty

with a budget of £250 you could do worse than a secondhand rel storm mk1 - this is the route i took and have absolutely no regrets

a great sub with all the bass you could EVER want imo :D

Of course you can pay buy credit card. They are a long established bricks & mortar business not some fly by night boys :D

It should be an improvement on what you currently run but not night and day as you would expecty from the limited budget.

I also agree with samjet if you are interested in the second hand route as I also used to have a REL Storm 1 and that was a fine sub

Tempting as it might be to buy another budget subwoofer, I'd sell your two RELs. Then consider what you can do with the proceeds plus your present budget. Even if you do eventually decide to buy a second hand one.

Replacing two subs that do not satisfy with another of much the same calibre is not likely to lead to long term pleasure.

I would suggest that you really need to step up to another level altogether.

Besides, what are you going to do with your two other subs if you do buy a third?

    Regards
    Nimby

If I was in the market for a sub now, that 1KW Sony would be top of my shopping list! I think it gives OOmph!

    No alexs 2

No I’m not connected to the company…boy do they have some nice equipment from 35mm to dual 35/70mm projectors and some tasty Dolby CP processors still like the CP-500 but my first love for the Dolby CP-65 Dolby A / SR type and the Vic V 35mm projector is the first one that I had hands on she has a nice look and a sound to her intermittent sprocket… :smashin:

Like the picture of the SR-71 blackbird...

:( Couldn't connect to their speakers page :(

Saw it in a google cache - two 4645's ...

May E-Mail them - what sort of amp you use with it ? - it seems as though it doesn't have its own.
