I was looking to upgrade my speaker system on my av setup.

Currently I have the mission fs1av speaker package with a pioneer vsx912 amp but the centre channel is somewhat muffled with a lot of dvd's which makes it hard to understand what people are saying.

I figured this is due to the NXT flat panel as no amount of adjustment to volume levels seem to help.

I've also blown 2 speakers as they distort at some frequencies. :suicide:

    My budget is around £500-£600.

My living room is only small (12.5 x 12.5ft) and they also have to look nice (My main reason for buying the fs1's!)

Could anyone please give me some advice! :lease:

For that budget you could get some Kef 'eggs' for £599 at Hi Spek or the Wharfedale Diamond 9 HCP package (£500). Both speaker sets have been well received and if it were my choice I'd probably plonk for the eggs as long as you don't plan to listen to too much music (they are quite poor in stereo imo).

Other systems you may want to consider are the Acoustic Energy Aego P5 (£500); Mission M30 cinema (£400); Mordaunt Short Premiere(£300); or Kef 1005's (£299).
