I'm in the market for a speaker package and from what I understand the sub is connected to the amp via sub out/left line in, and the sats connect to thier corresponding posts on the amp.

If this is the case, why do most of the subs I've looked at have terminals for the sats

Some people like to feed their sub with a full range signal and using the sub's crossover, filter the higher frequencies out to the satellites.

Thanks Ian.....is it better to hook'em up that way then (sats to sub) or does it depend on the system?

I think that you will find that most forum members will connect the satellites directly to the speaker terminals on the amp and rely on the bass management within the amp to filter the signal correctly
