Aside from the fact that the lead seems a bit expensive, they're quite right. You do only need a single lead to the sub.

The L&R inputs are for the stereo boys who dont have dedicated subwoofer outputs. Even then, the first thing that happens inside the sub is that the stereo signal is summed into a mono one. The sub's amp is mono as is the driver, so it wouldn't matter if you plugged the sub into the white input either, you'll get the same sound out.

BTW, quick advice. In the receivers menus, set the speakers to size 'Small' and the crossover to 100Hz. Turn the subs crossover up to maximum (or defeat if it has one) and adjust the 'Gain' on the sub to taste. That should get you started.:)

I wish someone had given me advice like that when I bought my first sub many moons ago. That must be a potential sticky with slight alterations to the crossover values for differing speakers methinks

Have you read the stickies at the top?;)

:D

<EDIT> I take it back, there is nothing that straight forward in the stickies.

1 other question is there any way i can conect more than one sub to my amp thanks anthony
Yes, you buy a '2 female RCA phono into single male RCA phono' adaptor. Cost about £3 from all good audio dealers and a few crap ones too.

The question is, why? What are you thinking?

They'd probably be OK, but it might be an idea just to run them up as fronts with a 120Hz or higher crossover (to protect them) to see if they go loud enough or sound good enough.

That said, not much happens through the surround backs anyway.
