sub placement?

having recently purchased some Adam t5v speakers for my pc, and being very impressed with the sound, im tempted to get their t10s sub.
my problem is whether a sub would work with my set up.
i have the speakers on stands behind my 3 seater sofa where i sit. the sofa is about 18 inches out from the wall and the stands make the speaker base about level with the top of the sofa.
my monitor/tv is on a coffee table in front of the sofa. the left side of the sofa is about 3ft from the wall and i have a small unit there.
the question is, where would i put a sub? ive never used one before, so no nothing about setting them up.
would it work behind/to the side of my sofa or does it need a clear path?

Hi , sub don’t need a clear path, stick it a corner try all corners in your room and just pick which sounds best

thats good to know thanks.
do they need to be sat on the floor? could i put it on top of a wooden tv cabinet for example?

can Only say try it but normally there better in or near a corner you will get better performance that way ,, if it sounds boomy in a corner just move it away a little at a time
