    Hi,

Can you help me connecting a sub to my stereo amp. I have a musical fidelity x-a1 with pre outs and a paradigm pd-10 sub with a low level sub input or line level speaker connections.

Do I need a converter for pre out to low level sub in or can I just run two lots of speaker wire out of the amp speaker outs into the sub speaker line level inputs? Could doing this damage the amp and do I need any extra cabling/converters. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks,

If I understand your description correctly, you can simply connect the pre outs on the amp to the sub line level in. If the pre-out is labelled 'sub' then simply connect that one socket to either of the two line-level ins on the sub and adjust the gain on the sub to suit.

    Cheers
