    Hi

I have a problem where I have to wire-up my subwoofer with the audio cable running alongside the mains cable. This, not surprisingly, induces a humming which is most annoying. I can get around this problem by re-routing the audio cable across the carpet and away from the mains cable but this rather upsets my wife!

I am only using a cheap audio cable and was wondering if a ‘posh’ screened cable would be good enough to repel the interference from the mains cable. Does anyone have any recommendations? I wouldn’t want to spend more than about £5 per metre. the cable would need to be about 7ft long.

I was also wondering whether I could get around this problem using some kind of Audio/Video Wireless sender but am unsure whether it would work with a subwoofer. They are also quite expensive for what I want to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Ashley
