Sub Cable

Ill shortly be upgrading from a panasonic all in one system to a onkyo 606 and mordaunt short alumni speakers. do i need a sub cable or do i just use normal speaker wire??

As your sub is an active model (powered) you need to send the unamplified LFE channel from the av receiver's pre-out connection to one of the sub's input connections (it doesn't matter which) so yes, you will need a subwoofer cable. If it's a short run, pretty much any well made cable will do, see markgrant, profigold, ixos etc. No need to spend £££'s. I use a QED mini cable as my run is 5m around a room so I needed to hide the cable around the skirtings.
