Morning all - Quick question for you. I have a mid range system, with Mission 774's and a yamaha sub - not a great sub, but good enough for what I want. I have just had the whole system moved by an installer, but am left a little concerned by what he has done with the sub. The amp has 2 phono outputs (red and white) for the sub, and the sub has 2 inputs (red and white). The installer got a QED sub cable - cant remember what its called, but it is very thin indeed, and is just a single wire. It's good as it goes under the carpet and is unnoticeable, buT I have never seen this type of cable before. It is only a single wire, so is just one phono from amp to sub, leaving the other one unconnected on both units. Is this right? It seems to work fine - just not sure about it all Cheers siy
Hi, I use the same QED sub cable called the minature, I don't think it maters on a sub beacause it only one channel, and all the cable dose is sends the digital the signal to the sub. Not sure if I'm right, best thing is to call the manufacture for the amp and sub and get their advice.
thanks guys - puts my mind to rest. As I wasnt sure - he brought over a lead that splits the single cable into two cables at the sub, so that it connects to both inputs. He wants £30 for that (QED decent stuff mind you) - will that improve the sound - or shall I just stick with the single input?
Without being rude - I doubt whether it will improve the sound on a yamaha sub unless it is one of the top of range ones
Thanks - and not at all insulted by the comment - That is actually what I thought Thanks for the help Siy
