is it better to keep the sub volume low and control volume from the receiver or vise-versa your thoughts and advise would be much appreciated.

i have my subs at just over a quarter and control as you do but wondered if there was a right and wrong way. most discs being dynamically different we need to control from the receiver etc. but which vol. level on the sub. gets the best out of it?.

No idea, I picked half because it makes it easy to go back if someone changes it...

Also, I heard somewhere that you might get higher noise with some gear, if the gain is too low...

I remember now, in the Onkyo literature they mention it, and that they resolve this problem somehow...
