    I have a room that measures 6 x 4.5 metres with a vaulted ceiling.
    Currentlly I an replacing my sub, those on the shortlist are;
    Velodyne CHT 12R- Huge, but fierce should work ok with my Harman amp?
    MJ Reference 200, tiny-up to the task??
    or the REL Stampede-see above??

    Based on specification alone I would think the Velodyne CHT-12R would be the better option. Your room is certainly a large one! May also be worth considering the Quad L series Sub which by all accounts is very good and comes in at around the same price bracket. :)

    Much depends on what you want the sub to do as if you intend to play action films at high volume you will need to look at something different than if your prime requirement was for a little extra bass on music.

    I have a comprimise system, which I guess is becomeing more common place;
    Harman 630
    Pioneer DVD
    Arcam CD
    so movies and tunes, it's all good.
    Dont want rumble for the sake of it, or a sub out of its depth, so to speak.
