Are there any subs that allow independent settings of high level and low level imputs. At the moment (Rel Q-bass)if it`s right for music it`s too low for films and set it for films and it`s far too boomy with music. Can a decent sub have the same settings for both or is my first point the way to go.
    Many thanks.

    Hi John

It really depends more on the amp/receiver. Most Denons, for example, will let you have independent settings for each modes. The later Rel models have a Mode switch and seperate volume controls for the High & Low level connections giving you greater flexibility.

    All the best.

I think all REL's have this option, at leat most of them have this.
I have a REL Q400 (don't use it anymore though) that i had connected with both and got that right. Front speakers set to large, all others to small, crossover 45hz.
But when i bought a Velodyne HGS18 i can only use low- or high level, not both at the same time. So now I have all speakers set to small and croosver set to out (simular to bypass). This works just as weel in stereo and even better with surround.

So you can get both methods right.

    What is your budget?

Look here for great prices on Velodyne subs from Uncle Eric. I bought my HGS18 from him and the service is excellent.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for that.
£400 would be my limit if I changed.Unfortunately with an Arcam avr100 bass options are limited.I seemed to remember the rel100 had `dual controls`but can`t find that confirmed on the rel website.
