Stylish (basic) Amp for HTPC/MCE ? whats needed ?

Kinda decided on an Elonex Artisan LXD for main lounge to hook up with a large LCD display.

Now I want to get a basic AV amp to drive some in-wall/ceiling Monitor Audio speakers.

So question is what is basic 'black' AV for this task ?

I have no plans to introduce other devices as the Artisan does FreeView, DVD, PVR so there are no switching (or scaling/transposing issues).

I don't have the manual yet but does the Artisan also do the sound processing ?

......

Simplicity is a requirement, I was looking at something (tops) like a Denon 1906/2106

.... maybe I should cross-post on another HTPC forum ?

How about This?

Also half the height od the Denons.

not necessarily looking for really small, just decent sound and some front connectors.

Don't need HDMI

But kinda worry about feeding VGA direct to LCD, then AV stuff through amp,
so does amp or Artisan do the dolby processing,......

Swaying over towards Denon 1906 on a notion rather than some evaluation or factual basis.

Try the yamaha 757 as well as the denons (although the new range is ment to be really good, with some saying that the 2106 is as good as the 3805, i think some salt should be taken with that though.)
