I have finally managed to stream to my Sony TV
I know some people also had problems so see link for details.

Serviio • View topic - Sony Bravia blank videos

I was interested in streaming my ts files from Foxsat PVR but this method seems to work with any file converted to mov.

Next job is to work out how to transcode to mov on the fly.

Have you tried Homestream ? the sony version of serviio.
I recently had my HTPC set up and streaming nicely to my SonyTV. Then needed to swap Hard discs around. ended up re-installing W7 and now for the life of me cant get homestream seen by TV. I know it all works(did previously) but its driving me bonkers getting sharing going again. Any good weblinks, detailed tutorials?

    Not tried Homestream.
Tried many others but varying results with my Sony.
Using ffmpeg to convert to .mov solved it for me.

XBMC seems OK with most formats and most file types on many servers.

Homestream is a version of serviio with pre-set rendering targets of sony devices.
Very little difference from stock serviio.
