Streaming my backups

Just wondering. My movies are backed up on my home server which I can access remotely. It is possible to access my movies if I stayed away (hotel etc) is so what do I need?

At the moment I stream using XBMC downstairs

Many thanks

Plex is probably the best server to use for remote access, there are plugins to use the xbmc NFO files. The main issue is with the power of your home server. The uplink bandwidth of your broadband will require your server to transcode your films to a level that can easily be streamed remotely. Serviio is also very good, but you still have the same transcoding issue.
