That's my favourite saying on forums but thought I'd elaborate a little more this time and give a real answer, still waiting for my 'best answer' award

Looks like he was a "Guest" - never even knew that existed.

Hasn't been back to the forum since, maybe he'll come back in another 15 years and give you that award :rotfl:

Don't think it deserves an award, but we can and do issue warnings for pointless posting and unnecessary thread bumping. If I issued you a warning for each one of those you've done this week you'd have collected enough to be taking a short holiday from the forums. ;)
So how about we stop this please? It's not funny and it's wasting moderators time. Cheers.

Seriously? You would give me a holiday for just having a laugh? Seems a little excessive and heavy handed for something that was obviously just a bit of fun :(

I could understand if my posting track record was abusive and out of line but a 'holiday' for just having some fun from a long standing active member seems a little OTT.

It's a warnable offence, your length of membership and post history have nothing to do with it. To be fair as a long standing member you should know better though.

Whilst you may think it's funny many others don't, even more so at the moment when it seems to have become a bit of a game with people doing it repeatedly across the forums.

So no other discussion needed on it, just cease and desist please, then everyone is happy and warnings won't have to be issued.

In my defence I see nothing in the rules saying you can't resurrect an old thread, the only rule I'm aware of regarding bumping is in the classifieds, so as a long standing member who should know better I still believe I've broken no rule ;)

I know you said no other discussion needed but you have posted in thread, a PM direct to me would have served the same purpose, so unless there is a rule I've missed the rules need addressing to add the alleged infringement I made.

I will obviously not do it again though so as you say probably no further discussion needed

It's pointless spam so it comes under rule 6 "members must not post spam".
And then there's the issue of rule 11 "members must not question the judgments or actions of forum moderators". So I think it's best this is locked now. ;)
