Loved the first season mainly due to that Speilberg style or homage filming that gave out a nostalgic feel and also a great storyline.

Bit worried ( hdr10 for me ) on Netflix and HDR implentation on this one though . It has not been great ( for me ) so far . Will take a look later for hopefully an improvement on this aspect.

Oh can't wait to watch this, Season 1 was one of my favourites last year. Unfortunately it will be Sunday before I can catch any of Season 2.

And with Dolby Vision added, it'll be a feast for the eyes too!

Out of interest how does it work with Netflix review content? Do they send you discs or do you have a special code to unlock content early?

      Only for nostalgia?

I liked the first three episodes of the first season, but then felt that there wasn't much there apart from nostalgia... I take it from that photo of their Ghostbusters style costumes that the 2nd season continues this...?

I'm not saying it is bad, it works very well for what it sets out to do... I'll probably check out a couple of episodes of this season to see what it's all about...

Season 1 got better as it went on... First few episodes were a bit ropey imho. Like you, I felt it was more style over substance - but that definitely improved over time and I would end up giving the series an 8. The characters were fleshed out pretty well by then end.

      Looking forward to this season.

Good effort Steve, will be tuning in but at a slower rate:)

DV is looking lovely on Mindhunter too, a bit spoiled for gorgeous content at the moment.

Don't forget Ozark and Suburra too. Both of those are great too. These days I look forward far more to TV shows than movies. Times are certainly changing.

Also feel the same, 95% of what I watch is tv based now :)

And to think a few years ago people complained about the lack of films on Netflix. See, they know what they were doing all along.

Cant wait to get this done asap.

Watched the first episode of series two earlier and I must say it certainly didn’t disappoint! Also another pleasant surprise the image quality is extremely good, no grain just super crisp 4K HDR done right...best I’ve seen yet on Netflix.

Sorry, I have to be THAT guy... I watched the first episode of season 2... no, I just can't... It's not for me... It was a slog to get through one episode...

Too nostalgic, too fax of a photocopy of a sketch... too sentimental... too much of a kids show... and it looked way too digital for my tastes, which is surprising given how slavish they are to all things 80s... Perhaps it is a Netflix restriction...

I felt nothing... Nothing funny, nothing scary, nothing sad, nothing suspensful... yes, I did get a sense that there are things to come, but only the very TV show way of we're-going-to-hold-the-good-moments-back-so-you-watch...

This seems like a show for committed fans of the first season... I'd rather watch some actual 80s movies instead...

Is there any news on a UK Blu-ray DVD release of the first season?

I see the USA now have it in a special VHS target exclusive packaging but news on the UK. I would import it but I think the Blu-ray is region A locked.

Got through 7 episodes before the Aspalls sent me into the Upside Down, it's been pretty great so far. The Dolby Vision pass is fantastic too, one of the more subtle implementations but it really works on the C7 in a completely dark room.

      Ok dumb question

When I look at the Netflix screen for this should I see Ultra HD 4k on it? I only see a HDR logo

It's showing HDR because you have an HDR capable TV. Netflix only show one banner, and the HDR (or Dolby Vision for me) banner supersedes the Ultra HD 4K one.

      The resolution will be 4K.

Up to episode 4 of season 2 so far. Loving it.
Crisp audio and a nicely done mix of retro music in there. Some big 'scary' moments with thunderous audio - easily good demo material for HT.
