2 weird things at the moment:

1st, Entrapment SE that I've had on order since 23rd August has been "packing" now for 3 days.

2nd, The Lion King Platinum now has a release date of 15th September and is due in stock in 2-3 days!?

I love this company for their cheap prices but they sure do strange things ever now and then.

Check that there weren't any Canadian holidays during that time. They don't ship at weekends or public holidays. Packing actually just means "allocated" I think anyway.

Supply clearly exceeded demand and they're obviously waiting for more stock. What's weird about that?

The release date is 7th October AFAIK.

[Edit] They have fixed the date now. My order had been packing since Monday, they just shipped it last night.

So my copy of Entrapment hasn't arrived dispite the fact that another DVD sent the same day and one sent the following day both arrived within a week.

According to the T&C i have to wait 9 weeks before they will do anything about it. The DVD took 3 weeks to come into stock so if that happens again and you add up all the time, it will have taken nearly 4 months from when I placed the order to get my DVD.

Any suggestions on how I might get them to send out a replacement sooner? They are DVD Soon after all, 4 months is not soon and I think the evidence suggests it has been lost in the post.

Or does anyone think it will just appear out of the blue? I've never had anything lost in the post before.

I had a parcel go walkabout from 'em and i did have to wait 55 WORKING days - so 10weeks not 9, then its another couple of weeks waiting for the replacement.

oh hang on they wouldnt replace them!! they "credited" my account and told me to re-order them!!!

But the prices had gone up as some of them were pre-order. So I emailed them and told them to add another $25 to my account to cover the price increases. Which they did but what a farce :)

I had a copy of la femme nikita on order with them for ages, which showed as packing, then suddenly changed to on order, and changed back to packing, after not recieving it after 4 weeks I gave up, and cancelled the order.

Which reminds me Ive still got a credit, anyone know if theyve got any good special offers at the moment?

I have the same sort of problem with games I order from dvd boxoffice if they send 2 on the same day the fail to get here this has happened about 8 times or so over the last 2 years but that is only about 6% of the stuff I get from them they are also based in canada.

Do dvd soon ship straight to the uk or do they ship to a holding zone like switzerland and repackage then resend the goods to avoid duty? dvd boxoffice do this and this seems to be where the problem starts I know my postie has not been stealing them (same one for five years and I have never lost anything from play or movietyme he will even pop round in the evening if it is a parcel that is too big for the letterbox) so it could be the same thing mate.

I cannot stand the whole 8 weeks wait if the games do not show after 8 weeks I normally do not care about the games anyway.

I ordered Lion King from them last week and it arrived in less than seven days...

I have had lots of parcels from North America go missing before - I had one DVD sent to me by a friend (in a non-marked parcel) take 5 months to arrive, and another was sent by her over a year ago and has never turned up! :(
I guess it is a risk you take with international shipping!

Two things I want to comment on here:

Firstly, I had a disc on order which was out of stock and showing that it was due in 3-5 days. The disc did come in to stock about 4 days later and the order status moved to 'packing'. It stayed at packing for about four days(!) and I then got a mail saying that it had now been posted. Imagine my surprise when I got home from work that same day to find said disc had arrived!!

Secondly, on a more important note, this same disc (which could be said to contain an 'adult art film' ) was in a package with an address label on one side giving my details, but there was also a label on the other side detailing exactly what was in the package!! Aside from fact that a light fingered Royal Mail employee would know exactly what he was pilfering (and could in effect steal to order), it could have been extremely embarrasing if the title of the disc that I'd ordered had in any way been descriptive of it's contents!!

I'll not be rushing to use DVDSoon erm...soon.:D

Me too my lion king still hasn't arrived and it was sent on the 25 oct.
but I ordered two dvd's after that date and they have both arrived, I am getting worried now.
I sent them a e-mail two days ago but have not received a reply yet, which is anoying.

I understand how frustrating it is Dave, but it is hard to see how DVDSoon are to blame for the slow delivery, although I do agree that they should have answered your email.
It is a difficult situation for a retailer when a disc doesn't arrive in time, I mean what can they say? They can't really put a replacement in the post when the original may yet still turn up... aahh the joys of buying region one DVD  :)

It is not just dvdsoon. I ordered a couple of discsfrom dvd.co.uk, one was shipped one shipped on 2/10 and one 6/10 the latter has arrived the former has not. It has to be a post office problem. Wasn't the London post office workers on strike last week?
