I have a rather odd problem

On certain channels the aspect ratio automatically changes. I have switched it from panasonic auto to 16:9 but it still does it!

and on certain dvds WIDE appears on the display every 10 minutes or so, again it is not on Panasonic Auto

    Does this seem normal?

Is there a hidden menu (or one that I can not find) to turn off the automatic aspect ratio switching?

I would have thought it only did this on the panasonic auto setting, but this does not appear to be the case with mine

There is a problem with these panels mainly on freeview and sky digital with certain channels. Its a two part problem, one is with the signal being sent by sky on these channels and "junk" on the part of the signal which controls aspect and the second issue is that the plasma identifies this as the aspect command and changes rapidly.

There is no fix at this stage unfortunately but as far as I am aware Panasonic's development people are working with sky to try and resolve it.

    Hope this helps

    cheers

It does seem odd though. You would have thought that if it was not on panasonic auto it would leave it alone.

Watching sky sports news is an absolute nightmare

I have emailed panasonic. Interesting to hear what they say.

How have you connected Sky+ to your PE30? I took delivery of my 42PE30 today and I'm still trying to work out the best connectivity and picture settings.

I was a little worried earlier because the default screen settings are really awful for a Sky signal. Had a play around and improved it a lot. My wife almost killed me when I first switched the thing on. Would be interested in knowing what your picture settings are.

You could try cutting the switch oin on the scart so TV gets no aspect signal at all.
