Got my new Rotel 1095 power amp the other day and a beast of a machine it is too. I wired it up switched it on and turned up the volume. But for some reason I have to turn the volume controle up a lot more than before to reach the some DB levels. How can this be? The Yamaha is rated at 80wpc where as the Rotel is 330wpc. Yet I now have to turn the Yamaha up loader than before. Is there something wrong here?

Nothing wrong I guess, damping factor and gain would be the reason for that.
The wattage rating has nothing to do with that, it just stands for louder volume (in a way) and more dynamics.
