Strange BHD problem??!!

When playing the extras disc of BHD on my laptop's DVD drive my usual software won't recognise the disc (WinDVD) - nothing happens at all. If I load up Media Player though it plays without a problem. Not had this problem with any other discs (including those with DVD-ROM material on - very confused!!

Anyone have any ideas??

WinDVD came pre installed on my computer so I'm not entirely sure where abouts I'd need to go to get it from again if I wanted to re-install it. I don't believe the version I have is available as freeware so I'd ideally like to avoid doing that if possible.

It just seems weird that this is the only disc that exhibits a problem - could it be down to the way in which the disc is encoded perhaps??

Kelvin.

Any software that comes pre-installed should be backed up on cd. Did you not get any cds with your pc?

All of the major software (Win XP, Office XP etc) were bought by myself in advance of the machine being built. A colleague of my father's then put the whole lot together for me!! I can only assume he installed some other software that he felt I may find useful, which I hadn't bought... maybe I shouldn't be saying that...

Is there a freeware version of Win DVD available?

No of course not ;)

I'm a PowerDVD man myself anyway. No free version of that available anywhere either ;)

I'm sure that someone could track you down an evaluation copy of the latest version. This would you require you to buy a licenced version should you find it meets your requirements of course...
