STR-DG820 firmware + Sky+HD

Just purchased a second hand 820. Unsure if the update has been applied. I intend to connect the HDMI from the Sky+HD box direct to the TV, not going to bother routing it via the amp. Obviously the optical cable will be into the amp. Given this, I am correct in thinking that regardless of firmware I will have no problems with Sky+HD. Isn't the firmware update regarding assigning optical inputs to HDMI inputs?

If the 820 was affected then yes that will circumvent the HDMI & Optical assignment shortcoming.
