Does anyone know if it's possible to connect a sub-woofer to this Sony model receiver? It's an older model which still performs beautifully. Amazingly, I still have the original manual which shows various speaker setups. None of which display a subwoofer. The diagrams display front, rear, center channel configurations, but no sub. If it is possible to connect one, how can this be acheived? Thanks for any help in advance!

If it has a line level output you can use that to the line level in on the sub, or you could yous the speaker level output and then run your speakers from the sub.

Looking at the diagram in the manual, here is the list of in/out jacks on the receiver.

    cd player out
    dat in/out
    tape 1 in/out
    tape 2 in/out
monitor tv or amp for center channel (aud in)
    vcr 1 in/out
    vcr 2 in/out
    vcr 3 in/out
    monitor tv vid in
    speaker system a) 1 pair
    speaker system b) 1 pair
    surround speakers 1 pair
drlc speaker system for sub amp- 1 pair
    phone

Think there's any hope of adding a sub-woofer?

    Thanks, Mark
