Went to a retail park today and walked into a Curry's and picked up leaflets about "HD Ready".

Curry's June 2005 HD TV The future of TV your guide to everything you need to know leaflet says on page 2 says
"The two main formats that will be broadcast in the UK are 720P and 1080I,both of which are compatible with all HD Ready TVs.720P (720 lines progressively scanned onto the screen) will be better suited to sports as it should eliminate the ghosting or"motion-blurring",through its progressive refresh type."

so there you have it 720p eliminates motion blurring
