Playing with my Panny PW6, Got two questions that aren't really searchable I guess!

    1. Since I'm not viewing TV yet, do you think its okay to keep the contrast and brightness at levels I like as well as keep peak limit off as long as I only watch 1:85:1 or zoomed 2:35:1 movies?

    2. After 200 hours do you think its safe to watch 2:35:1 movies?

Replies would be much appreciated!

'contrast and brightness settings you like'!?

The best settings will actually be safe settings..... have you done a proper setup using avia or the likes?

Not yet, I've had the plasma since Thursday (component since Sat) and i've only had time to play with a few DVD's. Gonna be busy till next thursday. Contrast was set to 15 and Brightness to 0 and it looked really good with Shrek, Toy Story, etc! I was mainly looking at those perticular dvd's and maybe why my high contrast settings seemed really good! Did some other 1:85:1 movies and it seems your probably right with having lower contrast. I also switched normals gamma to S-curve instead!

Btw, on the signal settings should I turn the cinema reality on if i've already got it set to auto 2 on my dvd player?

Does anyone here use the advanced settings?

Also, How comes my useage time doesn't seem to be increasing? While i've prob not had it on for longer than an hour in one go, i'm sure its more than two hours! Does it only increase with every hour of continued use?

I really would put your contrast to atleast 0 for the first 200 hrs.

Any source material with borders (4.3 or 2:35:1) can cause screen burn given long enough..

Having said that, my screen has never had any "after image" problems (this with heavy use incl. PC for games etc)

I turned wobble and peak limit off too.
