I want to connect my stereo to my pc, so that I can record some old tapes to cd. I connected a stereo cable into the headphones jack of the stereo and the other end into the line in of the sound card. The problem I am having is that the sound only comes through one of the speakers. I want to know what could be the problem, and what is the easiest way to solve it. I was also wondering if its possible to plug a rca splitter into the line in and plug two sperate cables. Please help.... :lease:

What type of cable are you using 3.5 jack to 3.5 jack?

have you tried pluging a pair of headphones in to see if you get stereo

It'd be better to take a line out, i.e. two RCAs into a single 3.5" stereo jack plugin.

It's definitely in the line in and not the mic ? Maybe a dodgy soundcard or lead?
