    Hi,
I'm contemplating changing my current AV setup that would involve either selling my current Kef Ref set up or ideally keeping the 203's and having them within a dedicated stereo setup. The reason I'm looking at changing is that I may seel my Arcam P7 and all the speakers ex 203 and replace them with Genelec's

I've never really looked at stereo amps at this sort of price level but would ideally like some recomendations so that I can at least know where to start my auditions. I really want to get the most from the Kef Ref 203's

    Thoughts?

    Regards
    John

Ps posted this in the amps section but didn't get as many responses as I thought!

I would suggest auditioning amps from Roksan through to KRELL.

The 203's (like all KEF's), sound better with strong amps.

Try chord. I auditioned many amps to pair with my 203's and i found imo Chord to really shine with them.
I went for a chord spm 1200c and havent looked back since.

    Hi Black_magic,
Thanks for your rec, certainly Chord was one of my favourites to look at. Out of interest whats the rrp of the 1200c and are there any discounts?
    Cheers

Its rrp is about £4450. I got mine from musical images new for £3800.
Most stores will give you a discount on this amp if you ask. Musical Images gave me the best price.

Even the Q35.2s at 8ohm and 91db for example?? I was under the impression that these were easy to run?

    Cheers

u can never have an amp big enough:D

The AVI Lab series integrated is one serious bit of kit and would do those ref 203's justice!
It would also make the Q35's sound much better too.
