    Hello!! :hiya:

Right ive just bought the Microsoft wireless wheel and am very pleased with it and find it alot of fun.

The only problem i have is i find is that its awkward to use on my lap especially when the force feedback is activated, Ive tried clamping it to a little table i have but with the wooden floor i have in my little games room it slips and slides, Add that to the tables low height it makes for a dodgy driving experiance.

So im wondering do any of you that have bought the wheel have any tips as to what i could use to solve my little problem, Ive seen a few products similar to the ones below and they look fantastic but too big for my little room and a bit expensive.

Like i said very nice but to big for my tiny games room.

I haven't got the Xbox wheel but I bought this to use with my Logitech wheel
    on my PC.

    https://shop.interactiveracing.com/e-commerce/viewproduct.asp?ProductID=77

I also have a small room for gaming so this is perfect. It also folds down flat
when not in use. It's designed to be universal so I'd guess the Xbox wheel will
    fit no problem.

As it's fully adjustable you can use it with any chair that the frame will fit
under. I've used it with my sofa and with my office chair and I can get
the pedal and wheel height etc exactly how I want it.

I use it on a carpet and I haven't had any trouble with it sliding around. Only
thing I've done is put some non-slip matting under the pedals and the wheel
to stop them from sliding on the metal frame. Now they don't move at all :)

    Thanks for the reply :)

Looks a good piece of kit and just the kinda thing im looking for as i have a leather sofa in my games room, Still a bit pricey though.

Ive emailed them to find out if the 360 wheel pedals will fit the frame as if i do decide to buy it i dont wont to risk wasting 130 notes

Just an update, Got a email reply from BRD saying they have not seen the 360 wheel but feel it would fit as most models do, Hmm im not spending 130 quid to then find out its useless, Shame as it looked promising.

    Hi
i thought the same, with force feedback on the wheel really needed to be mounted to something so knocked up a quick mount.

the pedals are held in place so they cant run off when you really get into the race, also the cables are all tacked on so cant get damaged.

this is just a protertype that needs finishishing properly but im sure you get the idea.

the base needs to be widened slightly as there is a little wobble from side to side but appart from that its great for use on the sofa.

the only problem with it now is that the cats think it is a new scratching post for them :nono: lol

lol i was just about to say i have a mate with that racing frame and i could get him to test my wheel on it.... then i realised.... it was you!!!

I must admit the pedal base is pretty big.

its 33cm wide by 35 cm long. do you think it would fit on the pedal tray ok?

Id love it if you could test the wheel on the frame, If the frame was 50 quid id risk it but 130 quid is to much for me to gamble on

Thanks Limey, but the wife wont let me keep it there all the time,
fotunately the frame at the front slides back under the seat and the
seat back folds forward so I can stash it in a corner when not in use.

    Have Fun :smashin:

I must admit i must just be lucky, because my wheel is almost at the perfect height and position when clamped to my computer bench, and my LCD TV is just far enough away.

on top of this it means my pedles (underneath my pooter desk) are pushed up against the wall so can go no where.

even if i had a gameframe i doubt i would get my seating setup much better than it is now.

sorry dont mean to gloat :D

Okay, I've tried the 360 wheel with the BRD gameframe (thanks Mike for
lending it to me). I can confirm that it fits no problem

Infact it's almost as if it was designed for the MS pedals as they fit
with about 1mm to spare! Which is great as they don't move around
    at all.

There's plenty of room to attach the wheel to the frame to, so no issues
there. I played Project Gotham for half an hour or so, and the wheel didn't
    budge an inch.

Anyway I took some pictures, just click on the links below. The last two
are of my Logitech wheel for comparison, and to show how the frame
folds flat when not in use.

I'm half tempted to sell the Logitech wheel now and go with the Xbox wheel.
Overall I think the Logitech wheel is better, but it doesn't work with the
Xbox. So having a wheel which would work with the Xbox, and hopefully
    the PC would be great.

    360 Wheel 3
    360 Wheel 4

no worries matey was handy to test as for people who like to play from their sofa the gamerframe is a mint solution.

just a shame that the wheel isnt programmable and you cant adjust the FF intensity..... maybe potential for future driver upgrades??

as for the wheel working on the pc, there is no hopefully about it :)

Does it not slide around all over the shop with those wheels on the bottom?

No its not powerful enough to move a coffee table on a carpet, You might find that position a bit low though.

thanks. If it was too low then I'd be out of options as I juts cant justify spending more money than that for racing games. I do have a PC desk upstairs iwth a 26" sammy, but I'd rather play downstairs with the 5.1 and 40" sammy, hehe

I've got mine attached to a small printer table that was "acquired" from work.

With me sitting on the sofa to play the 360 I was concerned that placing the wheel on my lap would be poor and I couldn't persuade the Mrs to let me have a racing seat in the living room as the house we have is like a shoe box anyway.

The printer stand is a very good alternative. It's slightly wider the wheel, when attached the space either side of the wheel is about the size of a packet of 20 smokes. The height is pretty much perfect for me but I am quite tall, my mate is a little shorter than me and he feels more comfortable with a cushion acting as a booster seat :D and the pedals sit on the floor without moving too much.

I'll try and post some pics when I get home.

    Smaz.
