Umm, I'm not being churlish but this was 'common' knowledge a few months ago!

It was obvious as soon as the Ep 1 DVD came out. The Ep 1 Video came out around the same time in 1999, and after the DVD sold so incredibly well, there wasn't much chance of Lucasfilm again waiting to release the Ep 2 DVD and cash in.

Although this would have been a bit typical of them, to only release the video, wait till everyone's bought that, then release the DVD.

Forget that anyway... I want the originals!

There was an interview, can't remember the who, where or when ( ) that stated all future Star Wars DVD releases (well, ep 2 & 3) would follow the industry 'standard' - aprx 6 months from Multiplex to Disc.

Could've been DVD file and it was around Oct/Nov last year...

Surely the enthusiasm depends on whether the film turns out to be any good or not? Does anyone really want to buy a 2 disc set for a five minute sequence to demo their system to their friends?

Having said that, I've got TPM and I actually quite like it. Just a case of getting past those high expectations I had on its initial theatrical release that it just couldn't meet.

Star wars is just one of those things that i feel needs to be in my collection.....i will almost definitely buy it unless the film is truly awful! But then again star wars is very much one of my earliest childhood memories.....so i would think that way!

It is nice to have it out a reasonaable time after the cinema.

    Confusicus....
Those of us who did not know about the release......does that make us less common than the rest!? :D

I guess i was being non observant when that convo came about! :)
