    Hi,

    I'm new!

My names Pete and i'm looking to sort out some decent home cinema kit.

I'm bidding on some KEF KHT1005's at the moment and looking at the Onkyo TX-SR505. For the DVD playing, i'm considering a PS3 (as i want to get one anyway).

Can anyone pass any judgement on the PS3's DVD playing abilities, is it worth getting a seperate DVD/CD player? I listen to alot of music too, but was hoping to interface my ipod to the AV receiver, what do i need for that.

    Lots of questions, sorry! :)

Other threads on this forum have praised the PS3 for playing DVDs (and Blu Ray discs) and it upscales too.

The PS3 will play CDs and even SACDs ( I think), perhaps you could assess the PS3 as a CD/DVD player first?

Hoepfully someone else can comment on your other questions.
