Originally expected to debut this past fall, Artisan Home Entertainment has finally announced a new February 18th street date for Stargate Ultimate Edition. This two-disc set includes (at long last!) 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfers of both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film, available via seamless branching. Each version of the film also includes Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround tracks, plus a host of extras: audio commentary by director Roland Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin two featurettes, a still gallery, filmographies and trailers. Retail is a mere $19.95.

isn't the r2 director's cut already 2.35:1 anamorphic, plus it has DTS and more DD tracks than you can shake a stick at.
the only thing that a new release of this film needs is the removal of those dodgy glider model sfx scenes!:D

I've got the R1 Spec Ed. and its only DD5.1

Being an Sg-1 fan I'll be going for it :) again :-(

Pitty Emeric et al hate the TV series but never mind.

    28.99 - where from?

    its 37.99 from play.

I haven't done a search but is there any diff between r1/r2

and for season 3 onwards are the extras present on the original discs (the ones with 4 eps apiece) the same on the box set. I may sell my indiviusals and get the box sets but not at the expense of losing the extras.

the first series was £28.99 on play last week, second series was £37.99.

couldn't do a comparison as they are still at home in their shrink-wrapping awaiting delivery... it's taken a lot of self control not to watch them!:D
