Ordered mine after I saw this thread :)

Never seen it before but it's only £10 or so at some of the Canadian DVD stores so I thought I'd give it a try :)

An other reason for not rushing out and buying the first release or in the case the second if it is not up to scratch.:smashin:

I had this on pre-order from Movietyme, but i have cancelled this order as from DVDsoon it's available for £8.96 including shipping!

I know DVDsoon can be slow at despatching the DVD's etc, but I don't minf the wait if i am saving some cash!

I now use DVD Soon for all my R1 purchases, which means all movies and American television series.

I have had no problems so far in 6 months of use (though only 20 purchases - I don't buy so many movies these days).

Delivery takes between 4 and 14 days.

One pays at the time of order, which is a downside for many.

Packages are marked as a CAN$12 value, very customs friendly!

They can be late to list some titles.

The cost of titles can creep up as the release date nears (though having already paid it doesn't affect if you already have it on order)

    They ship early when possible.

Some people may have had problems with items being listed as 'in stock' when they weren't (though 90+% of my purchases are pre-orders so it's not something I've noticed).

Amazon.com shipped my R1 pre-order of Stargate Ultimate Edition on 13.03.03.

    Thought release date was 18th?

I don't wan't to make a hole in anyones jumper but the directors cut on this edition is from the same master as the R2 Momentum release. So you will see where the additional footage has been inserted back in.

Regular vistors to DVDfile may already have read their review but Here is a link anyway, Oh Baby.

I think Ron's been on the wacky backy again.

    IMO...(!)

    The picture was OK.

    Just.

No, actually, on second thoughts I don't think that it was ok. Very grainy and certainly not state of the art, though not state of the ark either. Had this been released 4 or 5 years ago I might have given it a 4* rating. More like 1 1/2 * in this day and age.

Sonics are perfectly splendid however. I've only had time to skirt through a few favorite scenes using the dts track - I'd give it 4 1/2 *. Oh, what the hell, lets make it 5!!

I can finally flog my laserdisc edition!
