If that pic is correct mate, avoid it.

from www.dvdcompare.nethttp://www.dvdcomare.net

"The ORIGINAL R1 UE has DTS ES, more Extras, both Versions and is Anamorphic. It features the words "Director's Cut" on the bottom, and contains 2 Discs. HOWEVER, Artisan have re-released the UE with only one Disc (Disc One of the ORIGINAL UE) and this Version has the the words "Extended Cut" on the bottom, and is not really the "Ultimate Edition"."

Wow, well spotted. So it looks like movietyme has the best deal. I've never used them, how reliable are they?

Having a couple of commentaries on disc one does not effect the disc quality one iota!, the whole point of dvd is to provide film AND extras and still maintain the improved picture quality. All the first disc has is one commentary and short featurettes!, bear in mind that Retrun of the King fits nearly 2hr's of the film on one disc plus four audio commentaries yet maintains the best picture quality that a standard dvd can produce. Also, you do know that just because a film may not have any extras on disc one does not automatically make it a superbit release!, 99% of the time whenever there are no extras you just get a helluva lot of free disc space, not a helluva better picture.

Got my copy through from MovieTyme today and guess what?...it has the words "Extended Cut" on the bottom of the sleeve!

So am I the only one to get the single disc re-issue?...did any of you actually get the double disc version from them?

I might bought this if the extended cut of the movie wasn't so crap, I mean they never even got round to finishing the scenes they put back in. You can clearly spot the new additions as they stand out a mile as unfinished work, in one scene (where the death gliders are attacking the village) you can even see the death glider model swooping down on its strings!. I can excuse that in Goldfinger and Robocop, but not Stargate. Totally wrecks the whole film for me having such crappy scenes inserted throughout.

Somebody from this thread must have ordered this from MovieTyme!?

I'm tempted to keep the DVD (it was cheap) but I'm a little peeved because I prefer the original cut of the film to the Director's cut, hence the reason I wanted the 2-disc Ultimate Edition.

I'd just like to know if any of you actually received the 2-disc version before I get onto Craig about this.
